What is Astrology and
how does it work?
Astrology is the study of celestial bodies and how their configuration may influence individual and societal behaviors, based on astrological placements at the time of one’s birth, the current day’s alignment, and even future astrological arrangements within the sky.
An astrologer will be able to understand astrology by interpreting energetic tendencies for a particular time, place, person and even the world. Using an Astrology Calendar is a great tool to start to learn how these zodiac cycles form and what to focus on throughout the year.
What is the Zodiac?
The Zodiac is made up of 12 symbolic archetypes that represent various aspects of the human psyche. They are separated into elements and modes, which specify each zodiac signs purpose along a journey from creation, to rooting the energy to exploring and expanding it.
The cycle of energy repeats every year through the 12 zodiac signs and because of that, we experience the changes in psychological seasons, correlated to the physical seasons on Earth. As people go through each zodiac season, the collective shifts its energy as well and forms a deeper understanding through the areas of life each zodiac sign focuses on.
How does the Zodiac work?
Each zodiac sign builds into the next one, as the energy transfers from one energetic principal to the next. The elemental pattern is fire, earth, air then water. It repeats 3 times to establish the 12 zodiac signs we know today. It follows along similarly in length as the seasons, so we typically experience all 12 zodiac seasons in one year. The 12 signs are divided into 6 main energies, and so the energy cycles get divided into 6 at each equinox meaning we live by similar patterns each year.
Each celestial body transits through a particular zodiac sign at the time of one’s birth, in the current day’s astrology and will shift in the future as well. The placements of the celestial bodies within the zodiac creates a unique alignment for that timeframe, and therefore a unique energetic signature.

What are the Zodiac Sign Modes?
Each element in Astrology is divided into 3 zodiac signs, and each exhibits a specific type of modality: cardinal, fixed or mutable. A zodiac modality (mode) expresses the quality of each zodiac signs actions, behaviors and motivations. Basically, think of it as the beginning, middle and end of an element, the energy will be a little different at each stage.
CARDINAL - the start of the party! Cardinal zodiac signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) constantly have fresh new energy, ideas and desires for creation within their element.
