The IC (Imum Coeli) is the placement at the bottom of your chart that represents your home life, and what type of energy feels best for you in your home. So yes, this could be different from your sun sign!
Even though the IC sign is the primary placement you should look to match in terms of plant energy, it’s ok to mix and match! Perhaps you select some plants that align with your moon sign, or rising sign. This may make for a more emotional attachment to your plant.
